An outline of Ohio's medical marijuana laws is provided below: House Bill 523 (HB 523), which permits the use of marijuana for medical purposes, was signed by Governor John Kasich in 2016. A patient may carry a 90-day supply of cannabis under HB 523. Only oils, patches, herbal products, and tinctures are permitted methods of cannabis use; smoking is not.
Physicians in Ohio must hold a current Certificate to Recommend (CTR) issued by the Ohio State Medical Board. Instead of requiring you to see your primary care physician, we offer you a physician for your convenience.
Medical marijuana recommendations in Ohio are renewable online and are valid for one year. In order to prevent a lapse in coverage, we advise renewing 60 days prior to the expiration of your recommendation.
It will cost $149 for your full medical evaluation, consultation with a licensed Ohio practitioner, and authorized recommendation for the purchase of medical marijuana. To submit the state application, there is also a $0.01 state fee.
Patients with medical marijuana cards can buy 2.83 grams (or one-tenth of an oz). According to a doctor's assessment, these patients may possess up to 90 days' worth of medical cannabis.
